We left Fairbanks in the morning, took the Parks Highway into Denali, then the park road as far as it goes — 43 miles. Tundra, braided rivers, the mountain if the clouds lifted. South through Talkeetna toward Anchorage.
September 19 — Coastal Trail · ~25 mi
We walked the Coastal Trail along the inlet, Chugach on the far side of town, then the Alaska Native Heritage Center.
